Addendum concerning Installing TBAV for Windows 95
==================================================
Like all Windows 95 software, you must first run the Setup program to
install TBAV for Windows 95.
Understanding System Requirements
TBAV for Windows 95 requires the following:
- An IBM compatible PC, preferrably with a 80486 microprocessor or higher.
- Microsoft Windows 95
- At least four megabytes of internal memory and two megabytes of free disk
space.
Understanding the Installation (Setup) Program
The TBAV for Windows 95 distribution disk contains a Windows 95-based
installation program, used to install the TBAV for Windows 95 files
from the floppy disk to the hard disk.
The following procedure assumes you are using Windows 95 and want to
install TBAV for Windows 95.
Running the Installation (Setup) Program
To install TBAV for Windows 95, follow these steps:
1. Insert the TBAV for Windows 95 installation disk in your floppy drive.
2. Launch the Windows 95 Control Panel application by press the Windows
95 `Start' button, en toglling to the `Settings' item and selecting
`Control Panel'. Next, double-click the `Add/Remoeve programs' item in
Control Panel and press the `Install' button.
OR:
2. Press the Windows 95 `Start' button and select the `Run...' item.
3. Depending upon the disk drive you are using, type one of the following
commands in the Command Line box:
A:\SETUP.EXE
or
B:\SETUP.EXE
After a few seconds the TBAV for Windows 95 installation window appears.
4. After specifying the destination directory, start the installation by
selecting the `Start Installation' button. Setup now begins copying
files to your hard disk, displaying the name of the source file
together with the name of the destination file. You will notice a
progress bar going from 0% to 100% whivh tracks the installation status.
NOTE: Alternately, if you want to abort the installation procedure,
select the `Quit Installation' button.
5. Next, a dialog box will appear telling you that the Setup program will
now execute TbSetup to generate or update the fingerprint information
for the TBAV utilities. When TbSetup has finished, the installation
program will launch TbScan, to search your hard disk for possible
virus infections. After execution of TbScan, the TbSetup module will
be executed again, this time to calculate fingerprint information of
all programs residing on your hard disk(s). Select the `OK' button in
the dialog box to start the setup-scan-setup procedure.
6. Select the `Ok' button in the dialog box that appears next to
complete the installation.
